For measuring the shear strength of soil, Royal Eijkelkamp offers two mechanical instruments: the field inspection vane tester is used to determine the shear strength of undrained (CU) cohesive soft soils, to firm non-fissured soils on site. We also offer the pocket vane tester, to quickly measure the approximate shear strength of cohesive soils in the field or lab.
