Bridging the gap between drilling and CPT, the Drill’n CPT 200 is a cost-efficient way to transform your drill rig into the a CPT rig capable of performing continuous CPTs. The Drill’n CPT mounts in the break-out clamps of almost any drill rig almost instantaneously converting it into a CPT rig.
Resulting from Royal Eijkelkamp’s unique experience in both drilling and CPT the Drill’n CPT is the most complete tool on the market for converting your drill rig into a fully capable CPT machine. With the CPT unit mounted in the clamps, drilling and CPT operations can be performed efficiently using the same rig over the same hole. The Drill’n CPT can be provided with a self-propelled transport crawler to easily and quickly move the system into position.
The Drill’n CPT is not a downhole tool allowing you to perform discrete CPT pushes. In fact, it's a 200 kN system that allows you to perform true continuous cone penetration testing from surface to refusal.
However, unlike conventional CPT rigs, if refusal occurs due to reaching a hard layer, you can drill through the obstacle to resume CPT. If sampling is required the Drill’n CPT can provide CPT data in between sampling operations.
The Drill’n CPT is designed to be placed and clamped in the foot-clamping device of the drill rig. Depending on the weight of the machine an additional ground anchor (or any other system to create a reaction force) can or must be used.
